Quality and standards

Oreon places a high value on quality. That’s why the Oreon Grow Light 2.1 meets all quality requirements. The light carries the CE marking, is ANSI/UL certified and tested according to the applicable standards and meets all safety requirements.


During the design process, we collaborate with DEKRA. This independent provider of auditing and certification services offers technical support, runs tests and decides whether the fixture meets the applicable standards. By working closely together, Oreon ensures that any improvements of the lamp will continue to meet the standards.

The assembly of the lamp is done by an ISO 9001 certified company. The R&D Department of Oreon works together with its partners to ensure a continuous improvement of the production process. In addition, at least twice a year an unannounced audit is carried out by an external party.

Each fixture undergoes a duration test of several hours in order to ensure the lamp is functioning properly. Custom software, developed for us, collects crucial information. It enables Oreon to know for every lamp, based on serial number, which color combination of leds it contains. We also check with machine-vision if this is actually the case, and whether all leds function properly. This is also an electrical test that ensures the fixture is safe. Only after passing all tests successfully, the fixture will be released for the packaging department.

Lamps which are rejected will be placed in quarantine. They go back to the R&D Department where they will be analyzed and, if needed, the production process is adjusted. In this way, over the years, many improvements have been made which have resulted in the number of rejected fixtures nowadays brought to zero.

The Oreon Grow Light 2.1 has been tested according to the following standards:
